Hydra Hunting... Anyone have insight on it?
I like to occasionaally go out with a team of 6 to hunt hydras and I was wondering what skills would suit me to bring along..? I am a Healer / Ele but rarely do I use them (I'm a spiker).
I have most of the Monk skills and just need a few suggestions ~Veripare |

You can't go wrong with smiting skills, especially since all your ele skills are going to cost you massive amounts of energy.
Try using as many smiting skills that cost only 5 energy; then fill up on your healing/protection skills |

Would it be a good idea to bring Aegis or Symbol or wrath as a protection skill?

Which Hydras are you referring too? Ah well, doesn't matter though. Go for the low hp build. Get a replacement gear which you'll stuff with a lot of superior runes and NO Vigor Rune.
If you got health upgrades, switch weapons and stuff like that. Basically you don't want much hp. After you did that bring: Protective Bond Essence Bond Balthazars Spirit Mending Shield of Judgement Balthazars Aura Healing Breeze Blessed SIgnet When you manage to boost your Protection Prayers to 16 you can try and get it up to 17 with the collectors item giving you +1 with a 20 % chance. At 17 percent you only lose 1 energy when you get hit with protective bond up. Balthazar and Essence Bond make your energy go up. Mending keeps you alive a while and Healing Breeze is for the powerhealing. I'd take Warrior as a second profession for farming though... due to bonettis defense and switch blessed signet with bonettis. This basically results in you getting vere little damage. Low enough to not take damage at all as it gets instant healed by healing breeze and mending. Watch out for the knockdowns though and time it right. |

I'm not farming, I am hunting them in a group of people.. These people are sometimes guildmates or just random people... I like to Hydra hunt in the Dessert.
Thanks for the suggestions for the protection prayers, but my protection is no where near as high as 16... I have, though, maxed out my healing prayers =D I have some Skills to get then! I'll tell you if all goes well! ~Veripare p.s Anyone wanna Hydra hunt with me?? |
